Wells for Drinking Water Repaired

During our recent mission trip to the Rakai region of Uganda, we witnessed firsthand the critical need for clean drinking water in local communities. Located in a semi-arid area, Rakai is facing a severe water crisis, with less than 25% of residents having reliable access to safe water, according to government sources.

Unfortunately, most of the wells we inspected were non-functional and urgently required repair. The alternatives—contaminated surface water or distant wells—posed significant health risks for these communities.

Thanks to Wells of Love, a program of Friends of Nexus, generous donations facilitated the rapid repair of these essential wells. This support has made a profound difference, providing countless families with the clean water they desperately need.
