Nexus Seminary Uganda Celebrates 20 Years

During the latest mission trip to Uganda in April/May of 2026, the Rev. B.J. Norrix and Doug Johnston participated in a summit held at Seeta City Church, celebrating the 20th Anniversary of Nexus Seminary Uganda. The summit was attended by over sixty past, present, and future students of Nexus Seminary.

Nexus Seminary Uganda 20 Years’ Report (2006-2026)

Introduction

Nexus Seminary is an indigenous Ugandan Christian training program that was designed to provide quality theological training to rural pastors in Uganda. Since its inception in 2006, Nexus Seminary has endeavored to provide free theological training to both male and female gospel ministers using the languages they can easily understand.

The free training that involves giving out free Biblical resources has been made possible through the associates of Nexus Seminary, especially the “Friends of Nexus” organization, which is a not-for-profit Christian organization, headed by the Rev. Dr. B.J. Norrix. Other friends who have been very instrumental in the support of Nexus Seminary’s training initiative include the Rome First United Methodist Church, which for a long time, sponsored the provision of NIV study bibles and bible dictionaries to each graduate of the training course.

In the first ten years (2006-2016), Nexus Seminary ran a 20-course program for its students over two years. Starting in 2016, Nexus Seminary changed course and placed emphasis on the hermeneutical process after discovering this to be a crucial need for the Ugandan church.
